The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) will summons six more people to answer investment scam charges in the Forex-3D online fraud case, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Wissanu Chimtrakul, head of the informal financial business division, said investigators unanimously agreed at a meeting on Wednesday to summons the additional suspects, five Thais and one foreign national.
He did not go into detail about their names or the nationality of the foreigner. The date for them to report in has not been scheduled.
Pol Capt Wissanu said all would be charged with colluding to obtain loans to defraud, public fraud and putting false information into a computer system.
They were linked with suspects Pattanapon “DJ Man” Minthakhin and his singer-wife Suteewan “Baitoey” Thaweesin, who had already been informed of the same charges, he said.
Investigators said previously that 16 people were involved in the online Ponzi scheme. Three of them, including DJ Man and Baitoey, have been charged and another would meet DSI invesigators by the end of this month.
The decision on Wednesday to summons six more people brings the total number in this group facing charges to date to 10.
Pol Capt Wissanu said the six will be called in when authorities complete the compilation of the evidence.
