Big bunnies and grog sales take a wartime shopping hit

Australian shoppers have been pinching their pennies after confidence nosedived upon the start of the Middle East conflict, the nation's second-largest supermarket chain says.

Coles chief executive Leah Weckert said customers had been cooking more at home, spent less on beer and liquor and bought cheaper and smaller Easter chocolates during its third quarter.
