After more than two decades, the United States may soon welcome more pandas on loan from China. The San Diego Zoo is preparing to house two giant pandas, marking a significant development in panda diplomacy. Chinese President has referred to the pandas as symbols of friendship.

Panda diplomacy between Beijing and Washington dates back to 1972. However, in recent years, the number of panda loans has decreased due to strained relations between the two countries. This new agreement signals a positive shift in this aspect of U.S.-China relations.
