Residents of a Hamilton village couldnt believe their eyes when they opened their curtains to a herd of cows outside their homes.
The usually quiet neighbourhood of Ferniegair was some what busier on Monday morning as traffic slowed to avoid the six wandering bovine.
People were udder-ly bewildered by the beautiful beasts as they wandered along the main road and made pit stops in gardens.
One local was on her way to work when she stumbled across the moo-ving herd.
She told Lanarkshire Live : "I couldn't believe what I was seeing - it was not how I expected to start my morning.
"The cows were calmy walking along the main road and at one point even stopped to have a wee look at me, like I shouldn't be there.
"It was all quite a sight.
"There's a field at the back of the village and we think there must be a hole in the fence and they've escaped.
"One of the elderly neighbours was also quite bemused and said it hasn't happened in like 20 years.
"We didn't see any rogue cows lingering later on in the day so here's hoping they were all safely back in their field."
This time last year residents of Blantyre spotted a herd of cows waiting at a bus stop and outside a local bar.
The people of Bardykes Road even had to call the police out had to help usher the escapees back to their pasture.
