Update #2: Well, folks, it seems the sky's the limit for Monster Hunter Wilds. It's now crossed over 1.3 million peak concurrent players on Steam, beating out the likes of Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and most recently Dota 2 on the Steam charts, again according to SteamDB. It's close to beating Lost Ark and claiming a top-five spot, but with 736,445 concurrent players at the time of writing, it's gonna take a big weekend wave to do it.
Update #1: Not long after we originally posted this story, Monster Hunter Wilds accumulated even more players on Steam, and has become the eighth game on the platform (ever) to reach 1 million concurrent players. At the time of writing, its latest peak (from minutes ago) was 1,133,679, which comfortably triples Monster Hunter: World's all-time peak, and pushes Wilds up to seventh in SteamDB's all-time concurrent player chart. It's also the first Capcom game to pass 1 million simultaneous Steam players.
