Monsoon Session: Govt is running away from discussion over inflation, GST etc; blame Opposition Parties

Opposition Parties protest at the Parliament complex

New Delhi: The monsoon session of Parliament is getting disrupted continuously. While the government is talking about passing several bills, the opposition parties are accusing the Centre of running away from discussion on burining issues like price rise and the GST on packaged everyday food items such as milk, curd and Agnipath Scheme.

As opposition parties in both Houses continue to rally against the price rise and the GST, there are adjournments, prompting the government to blame the opposition for disrupting proceedings.

Opposition parties protested and raised slogans against the government in the Parliament premises on Friday morning against the rising price of cooking gas, inflation, Agnipath scheme and bringing essential commodities under the ambit of GST.

The proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned without any debate and discussion for the first 4 days of the session. There is a continuous deadlock in the Parliament.

In the Monsoon session that started on 18 July, not much business could be done in both the houses of Parliament so far. The session will last till 12 August.
