Monkeypox has now been detected in six US states, after health officials in Washington and California announced separately they were investigating suspected cases in two patients.
In California, a Sacramento County resident who recently returned from overseas travel tested positive to the family of viruses that includes Monkeypox, Public Health Officer Dr Olivia Kasirye said on Tuesday.
