Despite the rising cost of living, people are still trying to cling to festivities and keep traditions alive. This means we're all having to get creative with our seasonal celebrations as we keep a close eye on our wallets.
Thankfully, this doesn't mean you have to cut back on the traditional Christmas meal you know and love, as one man has shown how he made a whole festive dinner for just £24 - including a delicious dessert.
The money-savvy foodie, who uses the social media handle @CostOfLivingCrisisTips posted a handy video on TikTok showing the ingredients he managed to bag from Aldi for under £24 in order to make a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Although it was cheap, he didn't scrimp what they put in their basket.
A turkey crown in Aldi cost the foodie just £13.99, and while this may seem more expensive compared to the other items in the meal, it really is the crowning glory of a Christmas dinner.
Next up was a mixture of sage and onion stuffing for only 43p, and a packet of gravy granules for 95p.
Yorkshire puddings were 79p, carrots 45p, duck fat potatoes £2.39, and sprouts were just 69p.
He then picked up a 'six-month Christmas pudding' for £3.69 and ready-to-serve custard for 55p.
The whole dinner cost just £23.93, and the main course looked delicious - especially when soaked in gravy.
The ingredients made six portions, so per portion, the dinner costs less than £4 per person. If you're tightening your belt at the moment, this proves that you can still have a joyful celebration without all the unnecessary costs.
Others thought the idea was great, with someone even suggesting Aldi could sell them pre-packed in boxes for people to purchase for families in need, writing: "Would be good if Aldi put these together as kits and you could buy them for families in need? I.e a voucher that they could redeem for all this in a box."
