Money Saving Expert reveals Ryanair travel hack that could slash flight prices by more than half

Many Brits are planning trips abroad this year as international travel opens up again.

But it’s worth seeing if you can bag yourself a good deal, and MoneySavingExpert has shared a travel tip which could save holidaymakers hundreds of pounds.

There’s a way you can save up to 60 per cent with one specific airline, YorkshireLive reports.

Budget airline Ryanair’s cheapest ticket option is the Value Fare.

The airline says it's perfect for passengers that are travelling light with a small amount of items as it includes one small cabin bag.

But according to MoneySavingExpert, you could save money by booking the Value Fare with add ons, rather than selecting the ‘Regular’ fare.

The Regular fare is Ryanair's newest fare class, which offers travel extras for those that fly often.

This fare includes Priority and two cabin bags. These bags allow for one small cabin bag and a 10kg wheelie bag onboard.

Customers will also get reserved standard seats (Rows 18-33 included).

MoneySavingExpert shared that customers had "looked at flights to Malta - booking this way saves around £100."

Fans of MoneySavingExpert founder Martin Lewis will know that the website regularly shares travel tips to save money.

The financial journalist has also shared a hack on how customers could grab free access to airport lounges.

He said: "Access can be free with certain credit cards or bank accounts, or you can get it cheaply via frequent flyer schemes such as Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club."
