THE JAD FACTOR is fancied to build on a first career win at Newcastle last month by beating eight rivals for the Ladies Day Dress Spectacular Handicap Hurdle (2.25) at Kelso.
After podium efforts at Ayr and Wetherby in January, Mike Smith’s son of Arcadio went off at 9-1 for a 15-runner novices’ handicap hurdle over two and a half miles at Gosforth on his latest start. And he posted a personal best with a two-and-a-half-length supremacy from Get With It.
The handicapper has reacted with a 4lb rise in the weights but there is more to come from promising claimer William Shanahan’s mount, who is expect to cope with the additional two furlongs to go in again.
