There’s nothing like a local derby to whet the appetite as the 2023 Allianz Football Leagues get under way this weekend.
Monaghan entertain neighbours Armagh in the opening game of Division One in a fixture that already sold out weeks in advance.
Both teams will be keen to make a strong start to their respective campaigns as it was Monaghan who ended Armagh’s perfect start to last season when they came away from the Athletic Grounds with a hard-earned share of the spoils.

New manager Vinny Corey might be happy enough with a similar outcome tonight, but Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney will want his side to lay down a marker early on.
The Orchard Men are without the suspended Conor Turbitt and Greg McCabe while Oisin O’Neill remains sidelined with injury while Monaghan will be hoping Jack McCarron’s proposed transfer to Scotstown isn’t a distraction for the Farney.
