Moment two men smash into car and steal £50,000 of gold bars

Police are appealing to members of the public to help identify two men wanted in connection with a theft in Oldham last month.

CCTV footage has been released of the men approaching a parked car and appearing to smashing the window in, before reaching in and taking the objects and running away. The incident took place on Greengate Street in Oldham.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the men are wanted 'in connection with gold bars believed to be worth around £50k' which were 'stolen from a vehicle' last month.

The video appears to show two men approaching the parked vehicle. One appears to smash the car's front window in, triggering an alarm, before running away. One man then returns a few seconds later and appears to take what are believed to be gold bars from the vehicle.

Police are urging members of the public to get in touch (Greater Manchester Police)

GMP tweeted: "Can you help us find these two men? We want to speak to them in connection with three gold bars believed to be worth around £50k which were stolen last month from a vehicle on Greengate Street.

"Any information can be shared on 0161 856 9077 or 101 quoting 333 of 21/09/22."
