This is the distressing moment a group of thugs tied up, tortured and killed an innocent endangered bear cub.
The horrifying scenes also showed what appears to be police officers looking on and laughing at the blatant scene of abuse.
It happened in Castanos, Coahuila state, northern Mexico, earlier this month.
Disturbing images showed the locals tying up and torturing the four-month-old black bear.
Meanwhile, police just looked on and laughed as the adorable 29-kilo animal suffocated to death.
It is believed the bear cub had come down to the town in search of food and water due to the severe drought affecting the region.
Images of the sick killing were shared online, sparking fury.
One commented: "And ignorance will be worse in years to come because education in this country instead of improving is going backwards. What a shame that this is the news in my country."
Mexico's Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) announced that it would file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office against those responsible for the bear's death.
Coahuila Attorney General Gerardo Marquez Guevara said: "We already have a list of people who will be summoned to appear before the ministry to give their statements.
"The cause of death must be determined through a necropsy from veterinary services. However, it is evident that it was already lifeless."
Those found guilty could face from three to six years in prison.
The black bear is classed as "in danger of extinction" by the Mexican authorities.
