Moment Scots couple get engaged at Glasgow Westlife gig during 'Flying without wings'

This is the emotional moment a Scots couple got engaged during Westlife's recent gig at the Glasgow OVO Hydro on Sunday evening.

The Irish singers played two nights at the Glasgow venue and during their rendition of hit 'Flying without wings', one man got down on one knee to ask his girlfriend to marry him.

And the sweet moment was caught on camera by one concert goer Lauren Cooper, who was videoing her favourite song when she noticed what was happening.

The couple, believed to be named Vicki and Danny, haven't been tracked down, but The Daily Record spoke to Lauren, who captured the heartwarming moment and posted it on her TikTok page.

She said: "I was filming 'Flying without wings' as it's my favourite Westlife song and I heard the people in front of me screaming. At first I didn't pay attention as I was just enjoying listening to the boys perform, then the lady next to me said "he's pulled out a ring" and that's when I zoomed into the couple.

"Both Shane and Nicky's wives were in the same section and you can see Georgina Byrne in my video taking pictures of them both. I've since learned from TikTok that the couple are Vicki and Danny. It was amazing to see. He obviously put a lot of effort and planning into it."

And fans who were at the concert were loving the video. One wrote: "Think there’s some tears in my eyes. How cute."

Another said: "this was the cutest! we saw it from the the other side of the stadium."

And one wrote: "Literally just balled my eyes out! What a perfect moment! Congratulations to whoever you guys are!"

On the first gig of their Glasgow shows, singer Nicky Byrne had an accident on stage which left him 'battered and bruised'.

He was injured on some mechanical stairs and shared the footage of the fall with his fans on social media. He wrote: "Hey All, Thank you for all your well wishes! So last night I did have a little accident on stage in Glasgow, where I didn't realise the mechanical stairs had opened behind me.

"A crazy moment which could have been a lot worse but I'm completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok! I'll see y'all back up there tonight. The show must go on. Thanks for all your well wishes. #ReallyFlyingWithoutWings. Love Nicky".
