Moment Pennsylvania Governor is almost hit by falling backdrop

This is the moment Gov. Josh Shapiro was almost hit by a falling backdrop mid-speech.

During an event in Hershey, Philadelphia on Thursday (9 April), Mr Shaprio, a potential 2028 presidential hopeful, was discussing the celebrations planned this summer for America's 250th birthday when the staging mishap occurred.

As the backdrop was fixed, a Betsy Ross impersonator who had been standing next to Mr Shaprio stayed in character as she said: “This is such an exciting announcement, that the world is falling apart over it.”

“I feel like Sandra Day O’Connor,” said a Ben Franklin impersonator, referencing the Supreme Court Judge who was almost hit by a falling stage frame in 2003.

All standing on the stage confirmed they were okay and the event resumed.
