Moment 'out of control' woman forced Jet2 Manchester flight to divert - before armed police escort her away

Shocking footage shows the moment one irritated passenger rants at staff on a Jet2 flight from Manchester to Turkey before she is escorted off the plane.

The young woman was seen screaming while pacing up and down the flight and reportedly slapped other passengers before the flight had to be diverted. The plane was headed to Antalya and left Manchester Airport at around 9.15am on Monday, with the flight usually lasting four and half hours.

But it was diverted to Vienna after the woman disrupted the flight and allegedly attacked other passengers. The flight had to land at Vienna almost two and a half hours in at around 11.40am before the woman was arrested and taken off the plane. It then set off to Antalya at 1pm, Yorkshire Live reports.

A video of the disruptive passenger, reported to be from Kirkless in Yorkshire, has now emerged showing her shouting at uniformed staff on the flight. A member of staff can be seen in the footage telling her to "stand back" to which she replies: "I am back. Sort your head out you."

The airline worker replies: "You are not doing yourself any favours." She replies: "Your'e not doing yourself any favours either. So what have I done? Don't touch me, don't ****ing touch me."

She adds: "What have I done? What have I done wrong on this flight, eh? See, you haven't got an answer."

A man in the background can be seen shaking his head at the woman's behaviour. Another clip of the incident shows the moment armed police officers escort the woman off the plane.

The passenger can be heard to shout: "Wait til you get the bill love." Others are shouting "bye bye" as the woman is led away by armed officers.

A text sent by Jet2 to passengers onboard the flight shortly before 12pm said: "Hello, we are sorry that due to the disruptive behaviour of a fellow passenger, your flight has been diverted to Vienna. We are working on a situation to get you on your way as soon as possible."

One passenger onboard the plane told the Manchester Evening News that the woman became disruptive ‘about an hour and 20 minutes’ into the flight. “There was lots of noise,” the passenger, who asked not to be identified, said.

“Then she came to the front of the plane. She was really angry towards Jet2 staff and wouldn’t calm down. Her voice was getting louder and more aggressive - she was shouting in people’s faces.

“People were saying she was kicking off at the airport before she even got on the plane. Then some people said it was over babies crying on the flight.

“A customer said something and she slapped him in the face. Then a man got up to try and calm the situation before taking her to the back of the plane.”

The passenger said that staff then made the decision to divert the flight to Vienna. As the plane landed, the woman was said to have slapped another passenger as she was getting off.

A spokesperson for Jet2 confirmed that flight LS895 diverted to Vienna "so that a disruptive passenger could be offloaded. As a family friendly airline, we take a zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour," they said.
