Mom arrested after husband allegedly raped and impregnated their 14-year-old daughter

Ofelia Garcia Ortega was arrested and charged with with two felony country of displaying or possessing a forged ID card, one misdemeanor count of permitting a child to suffer or be endangered, and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor - (Monterey County Sheriff's Office.)

The mother of a previously missing 14-year-old girl — who police allege was raped and impregnated by her father and whose newborn baby was found dead at the side of a road — has been arrested in Northern California.

Ofelia Garcia Ortega is the mother of the teenage girl who was allegedly raped by 38-year-old Sergio Galvez Perez. She was taken into custody in Salinas around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
