Molly Rainford 'blessed' to still be in Strictly Come Dancing despite being in bottom two again

Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford has described how she is "blessed" to still be in the competition despite being in the dance-off for a fourth time on Saturday, December 3. The singer, 22, and her dance partner Carlos Gu have now secured a place in the BBC dancing show's semi-final after knocking out Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima.

Taking to Twitter after the show, Molly said: "I’m feeling so blessed to still be in this competition. Thank you to everyone who did vote and support us, I couldn’t be more grateful & thank you to the judges for keeping my @bbcstrictly dream alive for another week," and she was met with several comments of praise. On Friday night, Molly and Carlos danced a Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago.

In a further tweet, Molly paid tribute to her dance partner and wrote: "Carlos, I’m so proud of us, whichever way we did it we’re officially semi-finalists. I couldn’t do any of this week after week without you, you’re amazing! Thank you for being YOU!" The pair's performance over the weekend was bitter sweet as despite being in the dance-off, they secured their highest score of the competition so far. One person replied to Molly, saying: "The way you did it was by being ACTUALLY amazing dancers rather than having a large fanbase who vote regardless of how the celeb has danced." A second person agreed: "You were superb. Brava!! Voted for you multiple times!"

A third added: "loved your dance so much, my favourite of the night!!! You’re such a great dancer and do not deserve to be in the dance off: (Good luck for next week!!!)" And a fourth commented: "You deserve to be there."

Viewers tuning in to Saturday's unusual Strictly results show were disappointed to learn that next week's shows would also be affected by the FIFA World Cup. You can read more about that here.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.15pm on Sunday, December 10, with the results show airing on Monday, December 11, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
