Molly-Mae Hague reveals changes after burglary and admits 'losing herself' amid negative start to the year

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed some of the changes she has made following a terrifying burglary at her home last year.

The 22-year-old and boyfriend Tommy Fury, also 22, were subject to a terrifying raid at their dream Manchester home - which they have left since the incident.

Molly-Mae, who is the creative director at Manchester-based fashion brand PrettyLittleThing, has previously opened up about the robbery which saw thieves 'ransacked' and 'emptied' their former home in Hale Barns leaving the couple 'with not a lot of stuff at all'.

Opening up about the £800,000 burglary in a video on her YouTube channel she said: "It was without a doubt the worst thing that's ever happened to me, to us, I'd probably say."

She has now returned to her YouTube with a new Q&A after asking her millions of followers for questions on Instagram.

One fan asked: "Have your views on having nice things changed since the robbery?"

"It's something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently," Molly-Mae replied. "The answer to that is 100% yes.

"In regards to the jewellery I used to buy, watches, nice bags, really expensive clothes and stuff, I think most definitely, definitely, the interest in that for me has just disappeared since the robbery."

She added: "Why would I ever want to own something that could compromise mine and Tommy’s safety? It is absolutely not worth it in my eyes.

"I feel like people could respond, 'who does she think she is, why has she got security?' It’s genuinely for no other reason than it makes me feel more safe."

Molly-Mae, who shot to fame on the 2019 series of Love Island, was also asked: "Has 2022 got off to a good start?"

The question comes after Molly-Mae was centre of a social media storm when comments she made on a podcast last year resurfaced.

The influencer came under fire when a short clip from her appearance on The Diary Of A CEO podcast went viral.

After days of silence, Molly-Mae returned to social media and apologised to her fans after being accused of being 'tone deaf' by repeating a quote that says we all have "the same 24 hours in a day as Beyonce."

Responding to the question in her YouTube video, Molly-Mae said: "That's a very broad question. I always put a lot of pressure on myself in December time for January coming to be incredible and smash all my goals.

"Like I make vision boards and I get a plan out with Fran and I get really really on it."

She went on to explain that not everything works out the way they were meant to and said: "The reality is things don't really always go the way you planned and the start of the year had different plans for me than I'd hoped, which is fine.

"But I definitely think that now things are starting to get back on track. I definitely feel a lot more like myself. A lot of you guys have been asking me in general like how I am, which is so sweet. And I'm definitely more myself now.

"The start of the year was just a bit of a jumble, it was – a lot was going on and I definitely lost myself in the first few weeks. I felt disheartened that I had a very negative start to the year, like a very negative start to the year. I was really really upset."
