Molly-Mae Hague had 'meltdown' during first job after birth as she shares real reason for quick work return

Molly-Mae Hague has candidly opened up about her struggles with her post-partum body after having a 'meltdown' during her first photoshoot after giving birth to her first child.

The influencer and her boyfriend Tommy Fury delighted fans last September when they revealed that they were set to become parents. And after sharing her pregnancy journey with her fans and followers, Molly-Mae confirmed they'd welcomed a baby girl on January 30, a week after she was born at a London hospital on January 23.

The couple, who met and fell in love on Love Island in 2019, announced her arrival with a sweet hospital snap showing the new family-of-three before later confirming her unique name - Bambi.

And three months after becoming a first-time mum, the star ditched the UK and jetted off to France for her first work trip and told her daughter Bambi 'see you soon' in a sweet social media post. But while her social media posts appeared glam, it appears Molly-Mae did struggle behind the scenes.

"I did, in the afternoon, have a bit of a meltdown just because it was a lot to take in," she said of the whistlestop trip across the Channel in her latest YouTube vlog. "That was my second day without Bambi and I think I keep forgetting that I am still am only three months post-partum.

"I had not really prepared myself for how I might feel on a photoshoot. I think I had kinda not prepared myself fully for how I might feel on a photoshoot, three months after having a baby." Talking to her fans in her latest vlog, Molly added: "I know I keep going on about it, but my body it's just so different now and I had a baby three months ago."

She did, however, go on to admit that the shoot was one of her favouites she'd ever done. "I felt a million dollars like [puts hands at chest] from here upwards. Obviously, my body has just grown a child and I definitely forget that and I am definitely way too hard on myself.

"Every single outfit I was in, I was looking at myself like 'oh my gosh'. One way to describe it is that it makes me so sad as to how I looked at my body before I had Bambi. I always used to pick apart my body then and now I would do anything to have my old body."

Molly-Mae also revealed how she had to go back to work weeks after having baby Bambi because she isn’t entitled to maternity pay. The 23-year-old told her 1.7 million subscribers: "I’m going on my first work trip to Nice after having a baby. It’s actually quite a big moment for me.

"I am so excited, but it’s a little bit bittersweet because it’s going to be my first time leaving my baby. She’s three months old now. It’s low key making me feel kind of sick. I’m not going to lie. You know that kind of homesick feeling you’d get." Molly-Mae revealed the original plan was to take Bambi with her, but she decided it was “selfish” for the sake of two days.

Despite being the creative director at PrettyLittleThing, Molly-Mae told fans she was actually self-employed. "At the end of the day, I am self-employed, so I have to work because there’s bills to pay," she said in the video. We’ve got a mortgage to pay, car bills to pay. I’ve got outgoings. I have to earn. I don’t get a maternity leave pay. You don’t when you’re self-employed, so I have to get back to work."
