Former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has said she has been forced to accept that she cannot keep all of her fans happy at the same time ahead of launching her new collection at a London fashion show.

The influencer, who was announced Creative Director of fast fashion brand PrettyLittleThing last year, said she hoped her new collection would appeal to “girls that want to have that classy London look but on a budget”.

Asked how she handled the pressure of being in the public eye, she told the Standard: “Obviously with six million followers, it’s not possible to keep everybody happy.

“I do my best to be a positive role model in everything I post, everything I say, I do put an extreme amount of thought into it.

“I’ve got a lot of young followers that are extremely affected by things I say, so I’ve got to be super careful.

“But I’ve also had to accept over the last three years that I’m not going to be able to keep six million people happy at the same time, it’s not physically possible.”

Last month, the star sparked a controversy after appearing on a podcast in which she said she had “worked my absolute a**e off to get where I am now” and “everyone has the same 24 hours”.

She later apologised, saying the remarks were not made with “malice or ill intent”.

Elsewhere in the Q&A, the TV personality said she attributed her career success to having “always stayed true to myself, stayed very relatable” on platforms like YouTube.

The 22-year-old, who is dating boxer Tommy Fury, said: “If me and Tommy have been bickering that day, I’ll tell you, and if I’ve got bad period pains, I’ll tell you.

“I’m just a normal girl, living this very different life, but I’ve always stayed who I am.”

Speaking to reporters at the event on whether she ever wished for her old life back, she said she didn’t.

She said: “I actually, really haven’t ever wished for my old life back because this life is everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more and I’m so blessed.

“I think as well, with the fans, they’re the reasons I’m sitting here now with this collection, doing what I’m doing, they’re so onboard.”

The collection will be launched at a catwalk show in central London on Wednesday (PrettyLittleThing)

The collection will be launched at a catwalk show in central London on Wednesday which will be live-streamed on PLT’s YouTube channel from 7pm.

The influencer said she has planned every detail of the fashion show to the “nth degree”.

“It’s been insane,” she said. “I think I’ve learned how much goes into making a show like this. I had no idea.

“There’s so much that goes into it and I’ve enjoyed every single aspect, and it’s been a massive journey and I’ve learned a lot.”

As well as recently announcing a book, called Becoming Molly-Mae, the star hinted a future project could be a move into accessories and footwear for her next collection.

The brand will also launch a new app, she revealed, called PrettyLittleThing Marketplace, where customers will be able to sell their second-hand clothes.

She also lifted the lid on an upcoming behind the scenes documentary of PrettyLittleThing for the brand’s YouTube channel.
