Molly-Mae 'didn’t go on Love Island to find love'

Molly-Mae has claimed she didn’t go on Love Island to ‘find love’.

Molly-Mae, was a guest on The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett which is a podcast hosted by Steven himself. In a video shared to Steven Bartlett’s Facebook yesterday, Molly-Mae and Steven discuss why she said yes to entering the Love Island villa, before she went on to explain that it wasn’t to ‘find love’. Molly-Mae said: “Put it this way I didn't go on that show to find love, no one does people go on it for the experience, people go on it for a laugh and I think because I went on there with a probably completely incorrect mindset, that’s why I did come out with a boyfriend when you’re not expecting them it happens.

“I’d say now if I hadn't gone on the show I’d like to say I’d be hitting a million followers because I had a really good work ethic with my Instagram but the show just elevated me. When you come off that show you’re all on a level playing field and it's totally up to you where you go with it.

“That’s not the reason I am where I am now and I just knew I wanted to go to levels that no one else had gone to and that's why I never really speak about it because that (Love Island) isn't the reason where I am now. Yeah it gave me a platform, yeah it elevated me but the things I've done now aren't because of Love Island, they were because of me and what I've decided to do and my work ethic.”

Steven then explained that Molly’s sheer success since leaving Love Island is ‘unprecedented’, adding “there hasn't been another example of someone who has risen so high following being involved in that platform”.
