Molly-Mae Hague asks fans if she can post about her holiday amid Ukraine crisis

Molly-Mae Hague has asked for permission from her fans if she can post about her holiday amid the ongoing crisis with Ukraine.

The social media star, 22, was close to being cancelled in recent weeks after she sparked outrage with her "tone-deaf" comments about wealth inequality and poverty, as well as being slammed for her Creative Director role at fast fashion brand PrettyLittleThing.

Now, the influencer has checked with her 6.2million followers if she can go ahead and share snaps from her sun-soaked getaway for work, saying it's "impossible" not to feel guilty about posting while Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russia.

While the star's fans have also begged her to use her influence as Pretty Little Thing's Creative Director to make changes into how much garment workers are paid.

The online brand has been accused of paying staff £3.50 an hour.

After Molly-Mae's latest runway show was hit by protests, a Pretty Little Thing spokesperson said 'any suggestion' 'that garment workers for PLT or other Boohoo Group brands are paid lower than the minimum wage is 'grossly inaccurate.'

In a statement to The Independent, they said: “We publish a list of all our approved UK and international manufacturers, all of whom have been audited over the last 18 months, and we do not tolerate any non-compliance with our supplier Code of Conduct.

"We operate a whistleblowing hotline so people can share any concerns they may have and we work with relevant government agencies to ensure the people who make our clothes have their rights in the workplace protected."

In a bid to show her support for the crisis in Ukraine, Molly-Mae took to her Instagram on Monday to post some helplines and ways to donate, before posing the question to her loyal fans.

"Given everything that's happening in the world right now I feel it's impossible to carry on with life as normal without feeling guilty...

"I'm currently away for work shooting a campaign but haven't known whether to share as usual for the people that come on Instagram to escape...

"I care about you guys so much and how my content makes you all feel [heart emoji]."

"Please let me know," she added, with a question box that said "Keep you updated" and "Not at the moment".

Over half of voters wanted Molly-Mae to keep posting as usual as the crisis continues.

The TV star has not shared her holiday location, but it's likely she will now update her fans as they requested to see her content.

Molly-Mae was criticised by followers and begged to use her new role as the chance to make changes to how much garment workers make at PLT - as the brand has been accused of paying staff £3.50 an hour.

She recently laughed off claims her Creative Director role is a walk in the park and says her 13-hour days prove her commitment.

Some pointed fingers and questioned how hands-on Molly would be in the seven-figure job.

But she told The Mirror anyone thinking she opens her laptop late in the afternoon after a day doing nothing couldn't be more wide of the mark.

She set the record straight after some social media jabs poking fun at the Creative Director role and outlined exactly the lengths she goes to - and she is taking it very seriously.

"It's hard to explain what a day looks like really," she added. "One day I'll be in at 9am and not leave until 10pm!

"I have just been in all day on Sunday, it doesn't stop - and we have about 20 WhatsApp group chats that are pinging off 24/7, honestly!

"I have had to mute a few. Then I get a message saying 'Molly, you haven't replied in the group for about two days.. get back on it'.

"I'll be sending messages at 2am 'I've just been thinking about this....' At night my creative juices are really flowing so I have to tell someone!"

But she make sure she gets her down time.

"I have definitely worked hard but when I have a day off, I really have a day off!" she said.
