Molina Healthcare members enrolled in the insurer's traditional Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage will lose those plans when 2026 ends. Medicare's annual open enrollment period closes December 7, giving affected households about six weeks to pick a replacement, confirm their prescriptions are covered, and make sure their doctors are in network before January 1.
Molina first announced the exit in February and reaffirmed it in its third-quarter earnings release filed with the SEC on October 21. The company recorded a $93 million impairment earlier this year tied to the product, which it said "does not align with the Company's strategic shift to focus exclusively on dual eligible members in Medicare." Its 2026 guidance also absorbs a loss of $1.00 per share from the plans it is closing.
