Chelsea are planning to submit their official bid for Moises Caicedo once several sales have been completed. The Blues saw their £60million bid made in early June rejected immediately by Brighton but the expectation is another proposal is coming soon.
The bulk of focus for Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino has been to seal mass amount of outgoings before then focusing on making key additions. A heavily bloated squad and crucial June 30 FFP deadline made doing so of paramount importance and after a slow start, progress is finally being made.
While not wanted by Chelsea, N'Golo Kante turned down a new contract and chose to join Al Ittihad and he looks set to be joined in Saudi Arabia by three others. Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy have all accepted offers to play in the Middle East for the 2023/24 season with marquee names such as Karim Benzema, signed this summer, and Cristiano Ronaldo already in the division.
Contract problems and challenging recent spells means the Blues are unlikely to get much in the way of a windfall from selling the trio, but exits for Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic will definitely help matters. Havertz has reached a full £65million agreement to sign for Arsenal, while Kovacic is joining Manchester City in a £30million move.
With five transfers all-but completed, the final details and announcements are the only things remaining and with that will come a bid for Caicedo. According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are preparing another offer to send imminently and will do so once those deals are over the line.
The Seagulls value their midfield ace at £100million, but a departure for under that sum is seemingly possible. Caicedo signed a new contract in February 2023, which is said to have included a clause which will help facilitate a summer move.

Arsenal could place themselves back in the picture for the Ecuador international depending on how the Declan Rice saga unfolds. The Gunners lead the race for his signature, but Manchester City are preparing a bid to sent to West Ham for their captain, as football.london understands.
A £90million package offer was rejected by the Hammers earlier this week, but Arsenal are set to return with an improved offer, a process that may speed up now Man City's decision is clear.
Who should Chelsea keep or sell this summer...?
