Brighton star Moises Caicedo has revealed he is 'very happy' for Kendry Paez after Chelsea signed the Ecuadorian talent in a £17million deal. The youngster is set to move to Stamford Bridge in 2025, when he turns 18.
Caicedo could yet join his national team-mate at Chelsea with Mauricio Pochettino pushing to sign the 21-year-old this summer. The Blues have been locked in verbal negotiations with Brighton over the past few weeks to avoid a bidding war with rival clubs as they look to bring Caicedo to Stamford Bridge.
The Ecuador international has admitted that he 'can't say no' to Chelsea in a recent interview, with the west Londoners looking to complete an £80million deal to sign him from Brighton. "It's a big team, that's true," Caicedo said
"A very historic team and I can’t say no because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful," he told TCTELEVISION.
Paez became Pochettino's first signing at Chelsea ahead of his official start date as manager on July 1. The Blues made their first move in February after the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City were all said to be scouting the teenager.
Caicedo is clearly excited about Paez's future and already has a good relationship with the talented teenager. Speaking about Paez, Caicedo said: "He’s a crack!
