Moise Kean latest on Everton return after Juventus transfer claim

There is no arrangement in Everton striker Moise Kean’s two-year loan deal at Juventus to bring him back to Goodison Park next season.

Calciomercato report the Serie A club are trying to get out of their agreement to permanently re-sign the player, and quote Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia as saying: “Regarding Kean, the signals are not very good. They will try to return him by not continuing with the deal set when they took him.” The article has prompted outlets back in the UK to speculate that Kean could be back turning out in a royal blue jersey in the 2022/23 campaign with fellow frontmen Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison both linked with potential Goodison Park exits in recent weeks.

However, the ECHO understands there is no break clause in Kean’s two-year loan deal which includes an obligation for Juventus – who sold the player to Everton for an initial £25million in 2019 – to buy him back permanently for €28million (£24million) plus €3million in add ons, in the summer of 2023, subject to certain sporting objectives having been met by the end of next season. Despite emerging as one of Europe’s brightest young talents during his first spell at Juventus and becoming the youngest player to score for Italy in a competitive fixture, his time so far on Merseyside has proven difficult both on and off the pitch.

Kean has netted just twice in 32 Premier League games for Everton and the club stated they were “appalled” after he filmed himself hosting a house party during the height of strict coronavirus lockdown restrictions. He spent the majority of last season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 17 times in 41 matches in all competitions and has struck on five occasions in 32 outings so far this term with Juve who splashed out €70million on Fiorentina’s Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window.
