Mohamed Salah has sent a warning to Real Madrid after they were confirmed as Liverpool’s opponents for the 2022 Champions League final.
The La Liga giants produced a stunning comeback against Manchester City on Wednesday night to book their place in the final in Paris later this month, as an injury-time Rodrygo brace saw them recover from 5-3 down on aggregate to force extra-time before Karim Benzema scored an extra-time winner.
They’ll now lock horns with Liverpool in a repeat of the 1981 and 2018 finals - with Salah, who admitted after the Reds’ own semi-final victory over Villarreal that he wanted to face Real Madrid, in particular out for revenge against the Spanish outfit.

The Egyptian was infamously forced off with a Sergio Ramos-inflicted shoulder injury in the first half of the 2018 Champions League final in Kiev, as a Loris Karius horror show saw Jurgen Klopp’s side fall to a 3-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Madrid also knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League at the quarter-finals stage last year, progressing 3-1 on aggregate with Salah scoring the Reds’ goal in Spain.
And having suffered his fair share of heartache at the hands of the La Liga champions, the Liverpool forward took to social media to send a blunt message about the prospect of facing Real Madrid once again.
“We have a score to settle,” he posted on Twitter and Instagram, alongside an image of him celebrating with Fabinho after setting up the Brazilian’s goal against Villarreal.
Liverpool will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on Saturday, May 28.
