Moffat man aims to help two groups with swimming challenge

A Moffat man is hoping to pool in money for two special groups with a swimming challenge.

Malcolm Mills is preparing to swim five miles this month in aid of the Guid Nychburris Association and Cornets Club.

The 37-year-old, who is a member of the Guid Nychburris committee, said: “The money raised will be split between the two. I’m splitting the money 50/50 between both groups.

“I’m swimming five miles in the month of June at DG1. I’m on the Guid Nychburris association committee.

“I’m quite good at swimming and it’s something I can do to raise funds for both groups and help both of them out.

“I’m looking forward to it but it will be quite a challenge.

“That’s 320 lengths of a 25m pool so it’s 64 lengths for a mile.”

Anyone looking to donate to the cause can contact Malcolm on Facebook or by calling him on 07340 795545.
