MMA heavyweight admits to eating equivalent of six tubs of ice cream in bed

MMA heavyweight Maruisz Pudzianowski has admitted he can eat five pounds of ice cream in one sitting while in bed.

The Polish star has been fighting in the MMA cage with Polish promotion KSW and is currently on a four-fight win streak. He is also considered one of the greatest strength athletes of all time having a 70 per cent win ratio while competing on the international strongman circuit.

Ahead of his latest exploit in the cage, Pudzianowski has admitted he does not stick to any strict diet regime while in training camp. "Okay so I don't have any particular kind of diet," Pudzianowski said during an appearance on the MMA Hour. "I just eat everything. I can eat 30 bars of chocolate and two cartons of milk.

"I can eat five pounds of ice cream in bed. I eat whenever I want, whatever I want and I always have these incredible muscles on my body. I have never had any kind of diet. You have to train a lot too but I eat mostly Polish cuisine but you have to train every day systematically for many years to look like this.

"Six days a week slowly step-by-step. In the morning a one hour warm-up. After jog do one and a half-hours of systematic training. Not hard and not heavy just slowly. I was the one who invented this training and I turned myself into this kind of machine by putting the pressure on myself to eat and train like this. I have done this every day for 15 years ever since I decided to do MMA."

Pudzianowski will make his latest outing in the octagon where he faces former KSW middleweight champion Michael Materla on May 28 at KSW 70. He dominated the World's Strongest Man competition for several years winning it five times which is the most by any competitor in history.

He also has a solid record in MMA having won sixteen fights with seven losses since first competing in 2009 .The Polish star has developed a rivalry with many other strongmen who have entered the combat sports scene including Eddie Hall.

The British star proposed that the pair meet previously, but Pudzianowski also suggested he would be open to a cage clash with Thor Bjornsson. Celebrity strongman Martyn Ford believes the 45-year-old could take a fight with a fellow strongman but only in the cage to keep his advantages over the likes of Bjornsson.

“He has also said about Mariusz, Thor has a massive reach advantage over Mariusz and he is in MMA so I see that as kind of an easy fight to be honest," Ford admitted. "Maruisz is a phenomenal athlete but he is quite old now, but the one that makes sense for me in a boxing ring.

"Mariusz vs Thor in MMA I think he would win but I think boxing takes away a lot of his strengths. I don’t think he would get in a cage with Mariusz, it would take his strengths away."
