An MMA fighter tried to flex about turning down a Hooters’ waitress – and it backfired massively.
Kareem Kobe Kline’s original Instagram clip showed the waitress tap him on the should before handing over a small white card, which he perceived as her phone number. “I’m here for business,” he captioned the soon-to-be awkward encounter, “Shorty gave me a special offer, but I’m a #manonamission.”
After seeing his post, Hooters’ worker Abbey (@abbyyskelly) headed to TikTok to set the miscommunication straight. “When men try to get clout by saying they curved you but you were really just doing ur job,” read the caption of the video, which has since racked an impressive 1.1 million views. In her TikTok’s comments, she also clarified that a smile doesn’t “translate to expressing interest.” She simply likes her job “and interacting with customers!”
Abbey showed a screen recording of the fighter’s post along with some of the comments that were initially mocking the waitress without them knowing the full context.
“Ur cute but it was a Hooters coupon”, she claimed on his post.

TikTokers flocked over to the fighter’s Instagram post – which is still published – in hysterics. One suggested that he should change his caption. “It’s not a flex to be rude to girls just doing their job”, they added.
Another commented, “He made a whole post and it was just a coupon i hope his ego feels better.”
While one said, “Wasn’t that just a hooters coupon? Bruh let the woman do her job.”
Kareem Kobe Kline told indy100 that he didn’t check the paper handed to him, “whatever she was handing me I wasn’t interested in. I was there to fight.”
He suggested that his video gained traction, not because of the miscommunication, but because he’s an “up and coming fighter, with a bright future.”
“I’m tall, dark and handsome with charm and talent,” he added.
The pair have since rekindled after Kareem shared a photo to his page captioned, “Ran into @abbeyskelly last night, we worked it out. It’s all love babygirl.”
