The Boston Red Sox are still a little bit alive in the AL wild-card race, which means each game is crucial and the intensity every night is palpable.
That was on display Tuesday night in Houston when manager Alex Cora threw an absolute fit after being ejected in the the bottom of the seventh inning after he loudly swore at home plate umpire Pat Hoberg following an Astros walk.
Cora, who had a run-in with Justin Verlander earlier in the game, went out to home plate and got his money’s worth before finally exiting the field. The Red Sox went on to the lose the game, 7-3.
Here’s his meltdown:

That was Cora's fourth ejection of the season, and second in the last three games.
MLB fans roasted him:
Cora is just as bad as Aaron Boone https://t.co/dLYFDbNGfi

Picked an odd pitch to go out on. Wasn’t even close to a strike

I mean, that was like a foot off the plate. And if you’re talking about Turner’s at bat, that was on the edge of the strike zone. Could’ve been called both ways. It wasn’t THAT bad of a call for him to blow up.

Can we talk about how insane it is that Alex Cora is even allowed in the MLB after what he’s done to degrade the sport https://t.co/K5Evq19S1g
