New York Yankees megastar Aaron Judge smashed his 61st home run of the regular season on Wednesday night, but Toronto Blue Jays fan Frankie Lasagna was left devastated after coming within inches of catching the ball.
Lasagna was ready prepared with a glove as Blue Jays fans knew that Judge could break the record on Wednesday night at the Rogers Centre, and the ball came right towards him in the seventh inning. Lasagna stretched for it, but narrowly missed as it cannoned off the railing, and bullpen coach Matt Buschmann managed to catch it instead.
The Blue Jays fan was distraught, throwing his glove and sitting down with his hands on his head. But it turns out Buschmann is the husband of FOX NFL reporter Sara Walsh, who has now joked she could have retired with the money raised by selling the ball. Experts had speculated the ball could have been worth an astronomical $350,000-$500,000 if sold.
