Commuters and travelling enthusiasts have shared mixed views over the new reduced train tickets that have been put on offer as part of a major national sale. The discounts are on offer for more than a month as part of the 'Great British Rail Sale', aimed at boosting rail travel numbers after the Covid pandemic.
Travellers can purchase a one-way to London St Pancras for £12.20, or a return for £24 during the sale, which covers selected routes from April 25 and May 27. People can also buy a £1.50 single ticket to Leeds and £5.30 for a one-way to Birmingham New Street.
Also among the selected deals, which mainly consist of off-peak and advance tickets, are trips to Liverpool Lime Street for as low as £8.50 and Manchester Piccadilly for £6.70. Prices can be further reduced with a railcard.
