NEW DELHI: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming ODI World Cup as he provides balance to the team as the third spinner, according to Mitchell Marsh. Maxwell returned to top-level cricket after a six-month hiatus due to ankle soreness and the birth of his son, delivering a career-best performance with figures of 4 for 40 to help Australia secure a convincing 66-run victory over India in the third and final ODI.
Marsh praised Maxwell's performance, saying, "It was a great spell. He came back after having not played much cricket for the last (few) months... It is the energy that Maxi brings to the team, his presence, and the balance that he gives us."
