Dublin model Missy Keating was the fourth celebrity dancer to be eliminated from series five of RTÉ’s Dancing With the Stars tonight in the dreaded dance-off.
The daughter of Boyzone singer Ronan Keating unfortunately failed to impress the judges as she and her dance partner Ervinas Merfeldas landed in the dance-off against Erica Cody and her dance partner Denys Sampson.
Missy had only returned to the ballroom floor after she as forced to miss the show last week when she tested positive for Covid-19.
And despite receiving huge praise for her Charleston routine from the judges earlier in the night, scoring her 24 points, it wasn't enough to keep her in against Erica and Denys Samson, who won the majority of judges votes with her salsa.
Speaking on the show, Missy said: "At least I'm not going home on my own. I'm going out to party now."
Speaking to Ervinas she said: “Thank you, you’re the best. It’s been an amazing journey. I’ve loved every second.”
Ervinas praised his dance partner for her hard work and commitment over the last few weeks.
He said: "She’s been incredible every week. She gave it her very best. It’s all I can ask for.”
She and Ervinas Merfeldas opened the show with a cheeky Charleston to ‘Out Out’ by Joel Corry & Jax Jones feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie.
Judge Loraine gave her the proverbial thumbs-up and said: "What a way to come back - with a funky Charleston . . . I think you really smashed it."
Nicky then asked Missy how she felt about dancing on her 21st, and she described it as "a dream come true".
The judges awarded them a total of 24 points.
When the public vote ended, the results meant that the first dance-off of this season's Dancing with the Stars would be between Erica-Cody and dance partner Denys Samson, and Missy Keating and her dance partner Ervinas Merfeldas.
Missy and Ervinas followed, and then it was up to the judges, who decided who should go through.
Arthur voted for Erica and Denys and then Brian also nominated Erica and Denys, meaning Missy and Ervinas were eliminated from the show.
