A two-year-old girl who had been missing since Saturday has been found dead in a garden after she was reported missing.
An frantic search for the missing toddler had been launched by police in a bid to find the little girl after she vanished around 4pm on January 29.
However, officers have today confirmed that she was found dead in a garden at an address in Reede Road, Barking, less than four miles from where she disappeared.
Metropolitan Police provided a statement on the ongoing enquiry, revealing that no arrests have been made as of yet into the death of the two-year-old from Dagenham, East London.
A post-mortem is due to take place later this week, according to Mirror Online.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The girl was found unresponsive in the garden.
“Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained.”
Police say her next of kin are aware and a post-mortem examination will be held this week.
The Met’s East Area command unit are leading an investigation.
