The brother and sister of missing 22-year-old Sophie Lambert has appealed for help to search the area after no sightings of her were reported. The young Harrogate woman has been missing for five days after she left her home at 7pm on Friday.

CCTV footage has been checked which shows her leaving her home at that time. Now her siblings have spoken on a Facebook group dedicated to the search and said they had been ‘up all night’ looking for her.

Police have launched a big search operation currently concentrating on the Nidd Gorge area with search and rescue teams also being utilised. Flyers with Sophie’s picture on have also been put up around the area, YorkshireLive reports.

A Facebook group named ‘Missing - Sophie Lambert’ has been set up to co-ordinate things - and her brother and sister Craig Robinson and Sarah Towers have been posting the latest.

Sharing an update on Tuesday morning, Sophie’s brother Craig said: “Day five. I know the weather today is meant to be horrible and raining most of the day, but can people comment on this post if they want to join the search again today/tonight, just so we can cover some different areas in small groups, thanks everyone for all your help so far.

“Still no sightings of my sister Sophie, can everyone please continue to share this post thank you.” Craig said he was out until 5am on Saturday, June 17, searching for her. The same day, a member of public handed in belongings found near the Nidd Gorge, which police identified as Sophie’s.

Sophie’s sister Sarah added: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that’s commented and helped on this group in the search for my sister, especially when I can’t get down there on a night due to my children being at home. Makes me feel some what comforted by knowing you’re all down there looking for her. Your all truly genuinely amazing people.”

Inspector Graham Walker, from North Yorkshire Police, said: “We’re looking into all possibilities as to what’s happened to Sophie Lambert. There’s been no positive sightings of her. “A member of public found items belonging to Sophie in the Nidd Gorge on Saturday morning. We are focusing on the river at this time.”
