Missing Scots pensioner seen boarding train to Blackpool now 'believed to be in Bolton'

A missing pensioner who travelled from Glasgow to England is believed to be in Bolton, officers have confirmed.

Patrick Harvey was reported missing from Kilsyth in North Lanarkshire more than two weeks ago. The last sighting of the 69-year-old in Scotland was at Glasgow Central Station at 9.30am on Sunday, July 3, where he travelled to Blackpool.

Following inquires, officers believe that Patrick has travelled further south to the Bolton area. Police say it is out of character for him not to be in touch with his loved ones, with concern mounting over his whereabouts.

Patrick is described as 6ft 1in tall with greying hair and was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers at the time of his disappearance.

Sergeant Pamela McFarlane, of Cumbernauld Police Station, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Patrick. It is out of character for him to be away for so long and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. We have had reported sightings of him in Blackpool but we now believe that he is in the Bolton area."

Anyone who has information about Patrick’s whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 1051 of July 4.
