Missing prisoner returned to prison after being found in Paisley

Paisley Dundee HMP Castle Huntly Renfrewshire

A prisoner who went missing from over the weekend has been traced thanks to a public appeal.

Police launched an appeal on Saturday after John Paul Lynch, 45, absconded from HMP Castle Huntly in Dundee earlier in the week.

He was reported missing to police around 6.45pm on Thursday, March 3, prompting officers to urge the public to help locate him on social media to trace him as he was believed to have returned to Paisley.
