Police searching for an 11-year-old girl reported missing from the Borders this evening confirmed that she had been found "safe and well". Kaitlyn Easson was reported missing after being last seen at about 5.45pm on Sunday in Galashiels, with a huge search including divers and other emergency services launched to find her.
Police had reported possible sightings, and Chief Superintendent Catriona Paton revealed that her family were "facing the most distressing of times and are longing to know that Kaitlyn has been traced safe and well".
Specialist divers searched for the young girl today (February 6), and police said the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Border Search and Rescue Unit, volunteers and specialist teams from Police Scotland, including investigators and air support, were involved in the bid to find her.
