Missing Dublin man last seen on CCTV carrying 'distinctive' blue bag as family appeal for help

The family of a missing Dublin man have said that CCTV cameras have captured him walking with a "distinctive blue shopping bag" on the morning he went missing.

49-year-old Thomas Flood is missing from his home in Dublin 1 since Sunday, 16 April. His brother Christopher told Dublin Live that Thomas was last seen leaving his home at exactly 11:02am on Sunday morning.

Thomas is described as being approximately 5 foot 2 inches, he is bald with blue eyes and he was last seen wearing a light grey bubble style jacket, a dark grey collar long sleeve top, dark grey corded bottoms and a pair of brown shoes.

Yesterday, Thomas's siblings Sarah, Christopher, and Terrence made an emotional plea for help to locate him. It is understood that at 11:08am on Sunday Thomas headed into Drumcondra train station and got on a train.

Christopher said in an update on Thursday: "The guards have tracked it further he gets off the train then goes into the Daybreak shop at 12:13pm he buys two bottles of Coke and a sandwich and he gets a blue plastic bag and walks out the shop.

"The civil defence and guards are now doing a land search. The shopping bag could be critical because it's very distinctive and people might have spotted it."

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí and Thomas’ family are concerned for his welfare. Anyone with any information on Thomas’ whereabouts are asked to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
