Miss Universe finalist Sienna Weir dies aged 23 after life support switched off

A Miss Universe finalist from Australia has sadly died at the age of 23.

Heartbroken friends and family of Sydney model Sienna Weir have been paying tribute to their "angel" after reports she was taken off a life support machine on Thursday.

It's understood that Sienna had been involved in a horse riding accident that took place on April 2.

She had been riding at Windsor Polo Grounds when her horse fell, and she was left with serious injuries before she was taken in critical condition to Sydney's Westmead Hospital.

Sienna's devastated partner Tom Bull said on Instagram: "We loved with a love that was more than love."

Sienna was a budding influencer who was a New South Wales finalist for Australian Miss Universe in 2022.

Her last Instagram post was a series of selfies in April and messages of condolences have been left underneath.

Ashley.mantle said: "Taken from the world far too soon! RIP Sienna."

A friend added: "Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel today. I'll miss everything about you Siena, I love you. I’m so lucky to have known you. Thank you for everything.”

One pal said: "Miss you much lil gremlin."

Scoop Management, Sienna's modelling agency, paid tribute to the star with a stunning video of her and a message saying: "Forever in our hearts."

Photographer Chris Dwyer added: "You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up the room and the world is a lot darker now that you are gone.

"Hope wherever you are, you're being the gremlin we all know and love. Miss you so much already."

Sienna, who was an English lit and psychology graduate from Sydney University, previously told Gold Coast Magazine about her love for horse riding.

She said: "My family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from, but I’ve been horse-riding since I was 3 years old and can’t imagine my life without it.

"I travel to rural Sydney 2-3 times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend."
