Mischa Barton previously claimed she was told to sleep with Leonardo DiCaprio when she was 19 and he was 30, it has emerged.
The actress' words from a 2005 interview have resurfaced after the actor was criticised for being spotted with 19-year-old Eden Polani.
Now 37, Mischa's comments came from her interview with Harpers & Queen during the height of her fame playing Marissa Cooper in The OC. In the chat she discussed the moment she and then-publicist Craig Schneider saw the Titanic man at a shoot in Malibu.
The meeting came just as Leo and Gisele Bundchen had ended their six-year on-off relationship.
Mischa claimed in the interview that Craig said: "For the sake of your career, go and sleep with that man."
The actress said she told him she wasn't interested in older men and asked the publication: "Isn’t Leo, like, 30 or something?"
The re-emergence of the interview comes as Leonardo faced backlash for being sighted with Eden, who is a French-Israeli model.
Sources close to Leo denied the pair were dating after rumours spread but didn't comment on whether they had ever been romantically involved.
According to MailOnline, a source said: "They were seated next to each other at a music-listening party. There were a number of people at that event."
It wasn't clear whether his current girlfriend, Victoria Lamas, 23, was present at the gathering.
Leonardo's dating life has come under more scrutiny lately, with it being suggested he only dates people under the age of 25 - he is currently 48.
The Hollywood star split up from his long-term girlfriend Camila Morrone last summer, a few months after she turned 25.
The latest to criticise his partner choice was Megyn Kelly, who hit out at him for dating someone who "could literally be his daughter".
Radio host Megyn discussed his age-gap romance earlier this week, saying he will never find someone "who he can fall in deep love with".
Discussing a potential hook-up with Eden, she said: "He is now dating a teenager, literally a teenager. He's in the news every week for how he won't date anybody past age 25. If he does, it makes news.
"And now he's actually gone down to a teenager. She could literally be his daughter," she said during her SiriusXM podcast The Megyn Kelly Show.
Megyn further hit out at Leonardo, saying his habit of dating younger women was "sad".
