Murder detectives have named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Richmond as 31-year-old Mirko Naramcic from Twickenham.
The force revealed they had arrested five people since the killing at around 11.20pm on Thursday, March 17, in the area of Maguire Drive, Richmond.
No victims were found by police after they were called to reports of a stabbing .
But shortly afterwards three men, including Mirko, attended hospital having sustained what are believed to be stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Mr Naramcic died in hospital. His next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination took place at Kingston Mortuary on Saturday and gave the cause of death as a stab injury.
One 18-year-old man was arrested on Monday, 21 March on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
Four other people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and have since been released on bail.
They are two females, one aged 17 and another 52, and two men aged 19 and 20.
Residents of the leafy street in Richmond were horrified after the man was fatally stabbed outside their homes.
Speaking to The Standard one said: “I heard screaming so I ran out into the street. I saw two guys bleeding one with a chest wound.
“I got them in my car and drove them to hospital.
“The one guy probably died in my car.
“He was so badly injured there was a lot of blood. I’m so sorry he couldn’t be saved, I did my best.
“I just heard shouting and responded. They were laying there. There were many injuries but definitely a chest wound.”
A local petrol station forecourt was cordoned off by police. Other parts of the street are also behind cordons, including an alley.
DCI Geoff Grogan, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have made significant progress with our investigation but we believe there are other witnesses to the incident who have still not spoken to us.
“I would urge anyone who has any information, no matter how small, to contact my team or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.
“Mirko’s family are understandably heartbroken at their loss and we are using all of the resources at our disposal to get them the answers they need.”
