Miranda Maverick is staying active in 2022.

At UFC 278, Maverick (10-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will face former Invicta FC standout Shanna Young (8-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in a women’s flyweight matchup. The event takes place Aug. 20 at Vivint Center in Salt Lake City with the main card airing on ESPN+ pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN/ESPN+.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Maverick also confirmed the bout on Instagram.
