Rocket-Assisted Frame sidearms have been some of the most popular weapons in Destiny 2 during The Final Shape, and The Edge of Fate introduced another rocket archetype to the game—the Rocket-Assisted pulse rifle.
Mint Retrograde is the first Rocket-Assisted pulse rifle in the game, a 200 RPM special weapon that deals high damage and synergizes with everything rocket-related. Much like The Call with sidearms, Mint Retrograde kicks off the rocket pulse lineup with a Strand element to pair with an Energy primary.

What is the Mint Retrograde god roll in Destiny 2?

Mint Retrograde offers plenty of solid PvE options, depending on what you need. For DPS rotations or to deal with tankier targets, there’s Rewind Rounds or Envious Arsenal with Bait and Switch.
Rewind Rounds refills ammo based on the number of hits, reducing the need ever to reload. Envious Arsenal refills the weapon from reserves after dealing damage with two other weapons, which will also trigger Bait and Switch after dealing damage with Mint Retrograde, granting a 30 percent damage buff for 10 seconds.
Other good perks in the second column include One for All and Chain Reaction. One for All grants a 35 percent increased damage buff when hitting three separate targets. It’s a massive damage bonus that is easy to trigger. Chain Reaction creates elemental explosions on each kill, making it strong for add-clear.
Much like Rocket-Assisted sidearms, Mint Retrograde isn’t suitable for PvP. Projectile weapons have never been consistent, and it’s hard to account for enemy movement when firing one. You could run a combination of Beacon Rounds and Master of Arms. Beacon Rounds increases reload speed and grants tracking to projectiles after a kill. Master of Arms grants increased damage for a kill, stacking up to two times, resulting in an up to 25 percent damage increase.
Still, don’t expect Mint Retrograde to outperform top special weapons in PvP, including shotguns and fusion rifles. Its main use is PvE after all.
How to get Mint Retrograde in Destiny 2
Mint Retrograde drops from Pinnacle Ops inside the Portal. Pinnacle Ops are mainly Exotic missions, including Encore, Kell’s Fall, and The Whisper. There are also Crawl activities like Onslaught and The Coil. They take longer to complete, but drop more loot.
To increase your chances of getting Mint Retrograde, attune to the weapon in the Pinnacle Ops Attunement menu in the Inventory. You can also focus on Mint Retrograde among many other weapons at Zavala in the Tower, although those drop at a lower Tier.
