Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made a campaign stop in northern Michigan on Monday, where he expressed his hopes for voters to see that he is dedicated to doing his best for the people. During a break from debate preparations, Governor Walz toured downtown Petoskey, Michigan, with his wife and daughter.
When asked what he hopes voters will learn about him during the upcoming vice presidential debate, Governor Walz simply stated, 'Just doing our best for folks,' before entering a local shop. The Walz family spent about an hour browsing stores in downtown Petoskey, including a bookstore and a pet shop.
At the bookstore, they purchased several items, including records chosen by their daughter Hope. The records included '1989 (Taylor’s Version)' by Taylor Swift and 'Honey Bones' by Dope Lemon. Governor Walz admitted he was not familiar with Dope Lemon but seemed pleased with his daughter's choice. Additionally, the family bought toys for their dog, Scout, at the pet shop, including a stuffed narwhal.
Governor Walz's visit to Petoskey showcased a more personal side as he engaged in everyday activities with his family, providing voters with a glimpse into his life outside of politics.
