Minnesota gifts Iowa touchdown thanks to 4 penalties on 1 drive

The “totals” line of 31 was historically low entering Minnesota-Iowa on Saturday in Big Ten play.

The schools weren’t — were? — disappointing in the first half.

Neither team found the end zone until Iowa managed to score a touchdown thanks to 4 Minnesota penalties on the drive.

The TD came on a 1-yard run by Deacon Hill and the PAT gave the Hawkeyes a 10-3 lead at the break.

Gophers QB Athan Kaliakmanis wasn’t lighting it up through the air with 8 passing yards.

Iowas had 19 rushing yards on 19 carries.

Mark Crawford of Minnesota punted 5 times for 211 yards; Iowa’s Tory Taylor averaged 52.5 yards per boot on 4 attempts, including three inside the 20.
