The Minneapolis grower at the center of a 15-state sprout outbreak has added a fourth product line to its recall, this time a radish mix that was never made from the alfalfa sprouts that triggered the original investigation. Everything Sprouts, LLC expanded on August 28 to include certain lots of Robust Radish Sprout Mix, and the Food and Drug Administration posted the notice the following day.
The expansion is narrow in geography and specific in lot codes, which makes it easy for households to check. It is also a reminder that when a recall widens, the reason is not always that more contaminated product was found. Sometimes it is that investigators have looked more closely at what else moved through the same room.
